There are various factors that play a crucial role in determining the success of IVF treatment such as:

  • The woman’s age – The likelihood of pregnancy is generally higher in younger women
  • The method of selecting embryos, such as Preimplantation Genetic Testing (PGT)
  • The quantity and developmental phase of the embryos that are transferred – The safety of both mother and child is increased when only one embryo is transferred at a time. Having multiple embryos transferred increases the risks associated with pregnancy and childbirth.

Frozen Embryo Transfer (FET) through Blastocyst transfer < 40 years old for year of 2022

Frozen Embryo Transfer (FET) is a technique in assisted reproductive technology (ART) where a frozen embryo is thawed and prepared for transfer to the woman’s uterus. In some cases, the embryo is allowed to grow into a blastocyst in the lab, which can increase the chances of pregnancy. The blastocyst is then transferred to the uterus, where it hopefully implants and develops into a baby. FET using blastocysts is preferred by fertility specialists because it can increase the chances of pregnancy and reduce the likelihood of multiple pregnancies.

When assessing pregnancy rates, it is crucial to keep certain aspects in mind.

  • IVF can result in no viable embryos for use due to issues such as a lack of mature eggs, unsuccessful fertilization or embryo development.
  • A low response to medications can lead to cycle cancellation in 5-10% of cases, with restarting at higher doses being a more effective approach.​
  • PGT doesn’t directly boost the likelihood of pregnancy, but it can increase the chance of success by preventing the transfer of poor quality embryos.
  • Approximately half of the fertilized eggs can be used for freezing or transfer as viable embryos.
